Ahoy!

Don't expect to see very much here. This is a project that I often neglect. It started in '07 but recently I wiped the slate clean and started over. Maybe one day something will come of this site. Probably not. And that's OK. I kind of like having a place no one pays attention to.I get to be as erratic as I want to be.

Below are some of my photos. Most have not been post processed yet. I'm just filling content right now.

if we ever had a baby

How fantastic are these. I want a little girl just to wrap her in furry pink skulls. It almost makes me wanna… not really. I like my sanity. Four is enough. But these are awesome.

Content

I really hate the content I put in here when I started. I needed to fill space. It did the job. But damn I’m tired of looking at it. I think I’ll delete.

And while I”m at it I need to re-size those pics. Too freakin’ big.

Searching for Cleaning Ideas

I was looking for homemade eco-friendly cost-effective cleaners today. I came across this site that has some good information. I had to laugh at the thought of using some of these in my house though.

To freshen a room: Place unscented kitty litter placed in bowls to absorb room odors

In my house this would not work for at least two reasons. First, the obvious, the cats would use it. That’s not the smell I’m looking for. Second, the dog would think it’s a candy dish after the cats visited it. Yuk! She’s a nasty dog sometimes. She thinks the litter box is a buffet already. I don’t need to make it easier for her by adding more places for her kitty treats.

Why does she always come over to me afterward with her tail wagging and looking very pleased? What does she think she did to please me? She ate cat crap. Good Girl, Martie.

To remove odor: Vinegar in a cup or bowl rids rooms of odors

Ok, sure, maybe this would be better than the kitty litter idea. The problem I see with this one is because of a really nasty story my brother tells of one of his escapades with a woman many years ago and the odor left lingering on him when he was done with her. I’m not going to go into detail but every time since I first heard the story I get grossed out when I smell vinegar. I’m not using that stuff to freshen my house.

More to freshen the room: Charcoal placed in a bowl rids rooms of odors

Yay! Candice Mom left crayons down for us to play with! Let’s color the walls.

Add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil to the inside of the cardboard toilet tissue roll. With each turn, fragrance is released into the room.

Brilliant. I think I can do this one. But it covers only one room of the house unless I was a roll of tp hanging in each room. Still looking for more ideas…

Cleaning:

Regular cleaning with plain soap and hot water will kill some bacteria.

Wait… some bacteria? How much is some? I want all those little suckers dead. Half of my family forget to use a plate when they make their food. They are taking their food from the counter and putting it right in their mouth. No. Some bacteria isn’t enough.

Cream of Tartar. To clean porcelain surfaces, rub with cream of tartar sprinkled on a damp cloth.

Does this really work? I hope so. I have some stains on the bathtub that I would love to get out. It’s a pretty claw foot tub. I hate that it looks like I don’t clean it. I do. I really do.

I better leave it at that for now. I just looked at the clock. It’s 6:30 already. I didn’t eat lunch yet. Husband will give me that disapproving look if I don’t get some food in my belly.

awesome.
